Feed your dashboards by creating an indicator based on a ratio

Updated over a week ago

You want to create your first indicator based on a ratio. This article is for you! 👇

In the editing part of your dashboard, go to the Indicators area and click on the "Create an indicator" button.

You have the possibility to create 7 different types of indicator. To learn more, consult the article What are the different types of indicators you can create?

Once you have chosen the type of indicator, the interface for creating your indicator will change to adapt to your needs... /!\ Once your indicator has been saved, you will not be able to modify this step.

Create an indicator based on a ratio

This option allows you to create your indicator by building a ratio with a numerator and denominator based on existing indicators.

Basic settings

  • Indicator name (e.g. Target coverage)

  • Description (optional field)

Computation

From the first drop-down list, select the indicator that will be your numerator. In the second drop-down list, select the indicator that will be your denominator.

A good performance is by default defined as "higher is better". If this is not the case (which is rarely the case), check the "lower is better" option.

Periodicity

By default, the indicator is considered as not periodical. If you wish to customize the periodicity of your indicator, choose the option "Indicator is periodical: follow indicator over regular time intervals (ex: month by month)". For more details on periodicity, see the article How to create a customized periodicity ?

Display mode

Then select the display mode of your indicator from the proposed models (Absolute or Absolute - Bar chart).

⭐ Little tip: Think about "Display a call-to-action" to redirect users to a page where they can improve on this indicator… In this case, be sure to fill in the label and URL of your call-to-action!

Finally, click on "Create" and voilà... You have just created an indicator based on a ratio!

See you soon on Incenteev! 😉
