What is the difference between the chat functionality and the group discussions?

Updated over a week ago

As you may or may not know, the "chat" and the "news" features- and by extention the different group discussions- are of completely different usage. In fact, although both features allow you to communicate with other users on the platform, each has its own specificities.

On the one hand, when you want to share a piece of information that would be useful to many different users or you want to share an interesting article that you think might help your peers in their selling techniques, the best way to do so would be to share such element publicly on the discussion group of your choice. This would allow your information to be discovered by a targetted audience, while simultaneously, you can also receive different comments and feedback regarding that post for as long as it remains posted. Essentially, the goal of posting on discussion groups would be to spread the information that you want to share to all the people concerned when you don't necessarily need a response/answer to your post.

On the other hand, the "chat" functionality is much more useful when you want to have private conversations with someone (or a specific group of audience) and you expect an equal degree of engagement from the person (or people) that you're addressing. In fact, the chat functionality allows you to get an answer to your urgent questions or direct feedback and immediate response to the issues that you are currently facing.

Now's your turn to go and socialize!
